Project Overview

INSCAPE aims at enabling ordinary people to use and master the latest Information Society Technologies for interactively conceiving, authoring, publishing and experiencing interactive stories . The stories can be in any form: be it movies, cartoons, puppet shows, video-games, interactive manuals, training simulators, etc.

INSCAPE will generate and develop knowledge in the emerging domain of Interactive Storytelling. It will achieve this by researching, implementing, demonstrating and disseminating a complete suite of innovative concepts, tools and working methods tightly integrated in a homogeneous framework. Moreover, the project empowers people with no particular computer skills to progress from content acquisition and creation, through organising, processing, sharing and using, all the way to publishing. So INSCAPE enables people to progress from being viewers to creators.

At Nottingham we are investigating the use of mobile devices, multiple input and output devices and intelligent agents for interactive storytelling.
